the cage: a buckets and borders film

This initiative will rebuild and restore the entire outdoor facility and turn the area into more than just community basketball courts, but a canvas—art in motion.

Culture, Pride, Sport. Three simple words, which transcend physical space, but can’t exist without it. The Lakeview Project aims to be a life source for all three.

About the project

“The Cage” as it is known, has a multifaceted appeal, and so too will be the documentary that showcases it. Two storylines, unfolding simultaneously, will focus on the re-construction and refurbishment of the outdoor basketball court— which will be a hub for basketball and culture. The 2nd storyline tells the story of the sport— spoken from the heart of the people who are overflowing with love, pride and joy as they watch their sport capture the emotions and minds of people across a province - and a country - which was once thought strictly the domain of those who gravitated to the frozen and grassy surfaces we know more intimately.
